About Us

Cleaning the Mitten is a family-owned residential cleaning company based in Livonia, Michigan. I started in 2013 as Mandee’s Cleaning Service, growing through word of mouth and neighborhood referrals. As we expanded, we rebranded to Cleaning the Mitten (around 2016–2017) to reflect our Michigan roots and our “Dust Bunny Exterminator” personality: friendly, detail-obsessed, and proudly local.

Today, we serve homes within roughly a 15-mile radius of Livonia, focusing on dependable people, clear communication, and spotless results. We're not the “race-through-your-house” kind of cleaners. We schedule realistic job times, follow a proven checklist, and personalize each visit to what matters most in your home.

In 2025, we shifted from team to solo cleaning to boost consistency and accountability. Most clients love seeing the same familiar face and getting the same high standards each time. We're bonded and insured, stand behind our work with a 24-hour satisfaction guarantee, and we happily work around pets and busy family life.

Giving back is part of who we are. Through Cleaning for a Reason, we donate free cleanings to individuals undergoing cancer treatment, because a lighter home can make hard days a little easier.
